Bespoke Vacuum Systems
ESC has partnered with clients across a wide range of industries to design and deliver tailored vacuum solutions. We offer full integration support, seamlessly incorporating components into existing setups to meet evolving needs. Our expertise spans sectors including medical, pharmaceutical, space simulation, aerospace, military, nuclear, and fusion, making us a trusted partner for complex, high-performance applications.

Degassers
These systems are designed to evacuate and dry any type of component or part. Ultimate vacuum levels of 10-2 to 10-11 can be achieved depending on the end use.
Selecting the correct sensor, and optimising the combination of vacuum, heat and purging reduces the processing time, reduces energy consumption and gas consumption.
To help with troubleshooting a residual gas analyser can be used to determine gas species after a successful cycle, guaranteeing good process control. Once the process is established, operators have a simple interface to deliver repeatable results.
We have delivered systems from desktop size, to 3M diameter. Our systems are used in space component manufacturing and other high reliability markets.

Device Leak Checking
Reliably determining small leaks can be achieved using a carefully designed chamber and pumping system which compares background levels of a selected gas, with a calibrated fine and course leak. This provides two points on a graph where the UUT gas level can be read to deliver a calibrated leak rate.
Pushing down background levels using combinations of gas selection, heat and pumping systems give the best results possible.
The software provided with these systems delivers a “one touch” calibration procedures and a “one touch” test providing the mBarL/s leak rate.
Used in defence and space applications for cryogenic gas storage elements or electronic components, these systems are a key part of end of line testing.
Drying systems
Using in process dewpoint monitoring and ultimate vacuums typically in the 10-2 mBar level. This can be achieved without the use of UHV pumping systems and makes them very cost effective. Purging with pure dry nitrogen helps to reduce the time required to dry your products.
The chambers are designed to be capable of handling modest positive pressure, with a selection of heating techniques to help drive off moisture.
Our systems have been used in applications like ink jet cartridge recovery to high reliability gearbox parts.

Space Simulation
Requiring the unique combination of ultra high vacuum <10-11mBar, high sensor counts, heating and cooling our space simulators are complex machines. They are used to test sub-assemblies, drives, sensors and entire spacecraft, to derisk projects on the ground.
Managing the required data collection and providing stimulus to the unit under test requires well designed feedthrough technology, robust software control and datalogging. Interruptions in testing costs huge sums of money, making reliability, time to repair and availability critical.

Near Space
As electrification becomes adopted in the Aerospace industry, ensuring thermal integrity and insulation systems at low pressure and temperature becomes increasingly important.
Other environmental factors can be included in the test facility, such as moisture, particles, or indirect lightning effects.
Programmable altitude and dewpoints with programmable test procedures are implemented in the GUI.
Component Storage
Some components benefit from being stored in high vacuum environments during extended production processes.
Simple chambers, with pumping for <10-3 and gentle heat to reduce condensation deliver the environments needed to protect your work in progress.
Annual support to keep things running are essential to avoid unplanned downtime and potential loss of valuable WIP.

Everything Else!
ESC has also delivered vacuum chambers for special applications such as hyper velocity target chambers, gas charging rigs and mercury tube filling.
The key in all of these systems is a understanding of flow, in gaseous or liquid form and in process control.
